Well this good weather looks set to stay as we head into August, so for those that don't want to roam far in the heat, our nearest town is Kington, a solid walk (wear a hat) or a short drive will bring you to this historic market town, surrounded by undulating hills and with a lovely mix of independent shops and cafes.
It is now well known for its walking festival which happens next month and is recognised as a "walkers welcome" town. Maybe not perfect for a long walk, but the town also boasts the UK's only traditional clog maker Jeremy Atkinson. The walking festival is opened with a goulash evening and music by the Kington Community Choir and is always well attended; so get your boots on!
If you are joining us later on in the Autumn you can look forward to the Kington Horse and Agricultural Show which is a long standing country show steeped in tradition and a great family day out attracting visitors from all over the country.
Just a few titbits to tempt you with this month, but if you'd like a little more information about Kington visit www.kingtontourist.info
I hope you are enjoying this fantastic summer and I look forward to welcoming our guests throughout August
