Christmas has come round so quickly this year - we can't believe 2024 is almost over. In the countryside, it is clear that the Winter Solstice is here (21st December) and the earth has gone to ground. The earth is quietly regenerating under the stripped back landscape.
Weather is the theme of the week – how very British – with Storm Darragh wreaking havoc across the UK last weekend. We lost some beautiful trees at White Heron including a plum tree at Field Cottage, and this humungous oak tree which was approximately 200 years old.
We have very exciting news – the launch of our eBike Tours & Tastings – new for 2025! With the conscious movement away from excess “stuff”, what better gift for someone (or for yourself) than an eBike experience voucher for next spring or summer – Christmas could last all year!
This week, the atmosphere at White Heron is electric. We have partnered with Voltshare to install EV chargers at our holiday properties. Guests and day visitors will be able to charge their electric vehicles on-site from Christmas.
Winter’s here already – and with snow this week and freezing temperatures, the little Herefordshire back roads are like ice-rinks and it is bitterly cold. Still, no-one can deny that it all looks very beautiful.
