Perfect for couples
The Forge is the perfect romantic holiday cottagefor a stay in Herefordshire. This open-fronted stone barn was originally the blacksmith’s workshop for the 10 carriage horses stabled at the White Heron Estate. It has been converted with architectural flair to create an airy living space and large bedroom. Ideally suited to a couple looking for a romantic bolthole or a family with older children. The beautifully restored original A-frame building has a Swedish woodburner, and offers an open and relaxed atmosphere. There are oak floorboards throughout, modern Italian radiators, plain cotton and linen curtains.
The gardens can be accessed directly via French doors. Outside you'll find a pretty terrace with lavender and beech hedged lawns, and a hot tub on the patio. The teak dining table and chairs are a welcome place to discuss the day's activities on a balmy summer evening.

We can provide a range of options if you want a catering service. We recommend that you liaise with the caterer of your choice directly, but we can do this for you at additional cost. All caterers can also supply their own waiting staff. Our 5 most regularly used chefs are listed below. Our two girls Sarah and Loopy, both come highly recommended and are very proficient and efficient chefs. Jamie has worked with us for many years and can offer a huge variety of different dishes. Simon and Meg are still quite new to us but guests who have used them are mightily impressed.

An excellent local chef who can be on hand at short notice to help. Sarah can cater for anything from casual dinner parties to formal meals.

LAURA “LOOPY” FOLKES
Laura is a local chef who offers private catering with all the trimmings. She is very flexible and happy to cater for groups of any size, and stays of any length. Laura can deliver ready-made and home-cooked meals and caters for a wide range of dietary requirements. She is happy to provide tailor-made menus or to work to your own menu ideas.

Jamie cooks any style to a very high standard. Of particular note is his Italian cuisine, which is very good value, and authentic too. His wife makes the most delicious Spanish omelettes/tortillas.
