Autumn Events in Herefordshire and beyond

As we enter the cooler months, we believe everything is beginning to wind down in preparation for the winter months. In Herefordshire and the surrounding counties, this is definitely not the case.

Autumn is the perfect time for a rural getaway; catching the last of the sunshine at the end of August and heading into September we see the leaves change their colours. In addition to this, this beautiful part of the country is home to some of the most well known and established food festivals.

Hereford Indie Food Festival: 26th - 27th August
Placed on August bank holiday, Hereford Indie Food Festival is now in its second year. Host to a Local Farmer's Market in the day and by night, bands and DJs take to the stage to accompany some of the best regional street food and drinks money can buy. Amongst many other fun activities, this one is not to be missed if you are staying with us that weekend!

Ludlow Food Festival - 8th - 10th September
Voted best food festival in the West Midlands, Ludlow Food Festival has built its reputation year on year. With over 180 exhibitors and an array of cooking demonstrations and guest speakers, you will be spoilt for choice; leaving with full tummies and brimming shopping bags.

Kington Show - 9th September
Just down the road, Kington's annual show takes place at the beginning of September. Dominantly a horse and agricultural show, it also showcases local craft, food and horticulture. A fabulous day out for the family and on the door step of the White Heron Estate - perfect!

Abergavenny Food Festival - 16th, 17th September
Another very highly regarded food festival in proximity to the county; just over the border, Abergavenny is one of the longest running food festivals in the country! There are several recognisable names on this year's guests with an abundance of food and drink exhibitors - make sure you visit their site to find out more.

Kington Walking Festival - 21st - 24th September
Moving on into the end of September where the temperature has dropped a little but the bad weather is still holding off; perfect conditions for a stroll. Kington and The White Heron Estate is surrounded by beautiful rolling hills, breathtaking views and it would only be a shame not to make the most of this during your stay. Check out their website to find out about the organised walks and events.
