Autumn Events in Herefordshire and beyond

 

As we enter the cooler months, we believe everything is beginning to wind down in preparation for the winter months. In Herefordshire and the surrounding counties, this is definitely not the case. 

Autumn is the perfect time for a rural getaway; catching the last of the sunshine at the end of August and heading into September we see the leaves change their colours. In addition to this, this beautiful part of the country is home to some of the most well known and established food festivals.

June is a particularly lovely time of year to visit Herefordshire, where our meandering valleys and woodlands will be bursting with colour and rustling with wildlife. Autumn at The Whittern Estate

With the arrival of autumn, life at The Whittern Estate is all very fruitful. We have finished the blackcurrant harvest and now we begin the apple harvest. Our fruits mainly go to the local cider producer and the pungent smell of ripened apples and misty mornings makes this a poetic time of year.
